Metametrix Bestows 2011 Donation to Environmental Working Group
DULUTH (Jan. 13, 2012) – Metametirx Clinical Laboratory has made a donation to the Environmental Working Group (EWG) on behalf of the Laboratory’s most dedicated clients. The contribution demonstrates the shared commitment of Metametrix and EWG “to use the power of public information to protect public health and the environment,” as well as the laboratory’s appreciation of its devoted client base. The holiday donation from Metametrix, made on December 23, 2011, was doubled by an anonymous philanthropic contributor, further fulfilling EWG’s year-end fundraising objective.
“Throughout the year, our clients entrusted us as a valued partner in the treatment of their patients,” says Carolyn Bralley, President of Metametrix. “So instead of gifting them with a predictable basket of holiday treats, we felt that a donation to the Environmental Working Group was a better way to honor our clients’ steadfast commitment to improving the lives of their patients,” Bralley declared. The EWG works diligently to protect the environment and those who are most vulnerable to environmental toxicity. The group has been instrumental in such causes as raising public awareness on pesticides in produce, cosmetic safety and banning BPA in canned and bottled foods. Metametrix is equally committed to educating the public on the harmful effects of toxic exposure, evident by their testing profiles, published white papers and interactive learning tools like www.everydayexposures.com.
