Details

Diagnosis: Lyme disease

Chief Complaints: 1) severe joint pain with swelling, primarily in hands and feet, unable to walk in morning, 2) severe fatigue, 3) IBS-constipation

Treatment initiated: colon hydrotherapy, liver detoxification using homeopathic nosode preparations, lymphatic drainage massage, CoQ10, amino acids, EFAs,(salmon oil), anti-inflammatory diet, probiotics

First follow-up: Patient was very compliant with treatment, reports significant improvement in energy. No longer experiencing joint pain or swelling, and is fully ambulatory.

Patient was not compliant with treatments and dysbiosis returned.

 

Diagnosis:  Regressive Autism

Presenting symptoms: delayed speech, self-stimulation behavior 

History of present illness: Gradual onset post MMR vaccine. Complete loss of expressive language skills, social reciprocity greatly declined;unable to interact with parents; placed in special education, being trained in sign language.

Labs: RBC magnesium and zinc low

General dysbiosis picture, likely impacted by excessive ingestion of fruit products,as noted by elevated polyphenol compounds and yeast marker (d-arabinitol). D-lactate may also be produced in a carbohydrate-dominant acidic milieu.

Treatment plan:

  • Started GF/CF diet
  • Brain Child Nutrients MVM
  • Probiotics
  • NAC, B12
  • Fish oil
  • Digestive enzymes
  • Far infrared sauna
  • Homeopathic nosode for MMR detoxification 

1 month follow-up: patient showed much improvement in cognition, verbal usage resumed after one month. Sign language training discontinued

6 month follow-up: recognizes parents

 

Diagnosis: Chronic fatigue/fibromyalgia syndrome (CFS/FMS)

  • Taking Klonopin, Lexapro
  • After supplementation to correct organic acid abnormalities, patient was significanty improved and discontinued disability assistance

 

Diagnosis: Melnick-Needle

  • MNS-very rare genetic mutation in filamin A
  • Increased content of collagen- sclerosing of bone & hyperlaxity of skin & joints
  • Typical presentation: exophthalmous; full, red cheeks; micrognathia, receding chin, high forehead; S-like curvature to bones of legs.
  • Rare, x-linked dominant disorder

 

Congestive heart failure with weight gain

  • Respirator, gastrostomy tube, tracheostomy
  • Severe upper and lower respiratory infections
  • Kidney, liver challenges, poor sleep
  • After treatment of organic acid abnormalities, patient improved
